Turning setbacks into opportunities, she says, is critical to success. When her plans to obtain her Masters degree were delayed due to the late arrival of her testing scores she turned that obstacle into an opportunity to spend a year working with an international casino company on a cruise ship. Andrea says, “It was an awesome experience and one I would have missed had this setback not occurred!” While this was not her first choice for how to spend a year, it ended up teaching her powerful lessons that she now shares with her audiences.
Andrea started her coaching business twice. Initially she did not reach the full success she desired. After working part time for others, she was encouraged by a colleague to re-launch her practice. In her first year, 2008, she went from scraping by, to 20% growth in the first quarter and 70% growth in the 4th quarter. 50% of that growth occurred despite the American economy crashing during the fall of 2008. Her average number of clients seen from 2008 and 2009 showed an additional 60% growth. In 2010 she hired a coach who successfully challenged her to achieve the next level in her business and help her write a book.
